Welcome to our Story

ABOUT THE BUSINESS (in the words of our founder Matt Hardy)

I launched Hardy Performance Physio in August 2019 and now have three established clinic bases in Warwick, Leamington and Southam. We work with members of the public as well as numerous professional and local amateur athletes.

The reason for starting my own practice was to offer a truly person-centred, individual and bespoke service I thought was lacking. I really pride myself on always taking a personal approach and want to make sure the business I created was centred around the individual. No session with us will ever be rushed, if we need more time, we’ll take it. Our priority is to get you moving in the right direction and give you the best rehabilitation experience possible. From experience and what I know of the physio industry, I’ve felt in other settings I haven’t been able to do that and to do the best by each of my clients. Now, my team and I can, as I have access to a top gym facility at all three sites and I’m proud to be in partnership with Fitness Worx who offer a very welcoming atmosphere in their gyms.

Our ethos is very much based in rehabilitation via strength and conditioning. You will be set a tailored rehabilitation programme to be completed at home or in a gym (if they have access). I compliment this with some appropriate hands-on techniques. I believe good, modern physiotherapy is so much more than machines, massage and acupuncture.

We’re here to help and we want to be part of your team working towards your goals.

We hope to see you soon.

Meet The Team

Matt Hardy BSc MCSP

Lead Physio and Owner

I’m Matt Hardy and I’m a fully qualified Chartered Physiotherapist and founder of Hardy Performance Physiotherapy. Let’s take a whistle stop tour of my life in physiotherapy thus far.

Let’s start at the very beginning; I completed my training with a 3-year Physiotherapy BSc (Hons) degree at York St. John University in 2009. Once qualified, I cut my teeth in the NHS and also worked for a local Rugby League and semi-professional football team in Scunthorpe, my home town. I left the NHS in 2012 as a senior physiotherapist to move into the private sector.

First of all, I worked for a large UK national chain of physiotherapy clinics, and then moved to a local group of clinics in Lincolnshire. Whilst working there I got promoted to Clinical Lead for training and development for the company; helping to mentor and train junior staff and to help senior experienced staff continue to develop their practice.

During this time, I also continued my own study becoming Titleist Performance Institute certified (2015) (an internationally recognised golf qualification) and I also qualified in the administration of steroid injections (2014) and completed courses with the UK Strength and Conditioning Association (UKSCA, 2018).

Relocating to the West Midlands in 2019, I initially started work the Ministry of Defence, first of all based at a recruit training centre. This gave me access to even more acute sports style injuries. From there, I gained a promotion and moved to the National Defence Medical Rehabilitation Centre (DMRC) now based at Stanford Hall in Leicestershire (formally Headley Court). Thanks to our good friend Covid-19, I began concentrating on directing and building Hardy Performance Physio.
